Laird's Lawn Service

Services

Everything we do —in plain English.

We’ll quote any of these on-site. The price you get is the price you pay — no surprise add-ons, no upsells.

  • Weekly Mowing

Even cut on a weekly cadence — front, back, side. Edged, blown clean, gates latched on the way out.

Weekly through the warm half of the year, every-other-week when overseed slows down. I keep the deck height a notch higher in July so Bermuda holds moisture through 110-degree weeks. Edged at every visit, walks and drives blown clean before I leave. Most Tempe customers go on autopay — same morning each week, no reminding.

  • Hedging & Yard Care

Oleander, bougainvillea, Texas sage, lantana — shaped to size, debris hauled off, not left on your curb.

Hedge work timed so I am not cutting bougainvillea while it is blooming or oleander right before frost. Shrubs get shaped, not just buzzed flat. Clippings go out in my truck, not in your bin.

  • Tree Trimming

Mesquites, palo verdes, ficus, queen palms, citrus — trimmed for shape, clearance, and storm season.

I trim mesquites and palo verdes on the off-monsoon cycle so they thin out before the wind hits. Citrus gets a light shaping after harvest. Palms cleaned of seed pods and dead fronds. Anything bigger than what I can handle off a 12-foot ladder, I will tell you so and recommend a certified arborist.

  • Weed Control

Pre-emergent in October and again in February. Hand-pull through the rest of the year so beds stay clean.

Two pre-emergent passes a year — fall before winter rye, late-winter before summer weeds — keeps 80% of the weed pressure off without spraying everything in sight. Whatever still pops through gets hand-pulled on weekly visits. No glyphosate near edibles or pets unless you ask for it.

  • Trash & Yard Haul

Pile of branches, old furniture, busted irrigation parts — loaded in the truck and gone the same day.

Tempe rules cap bulk trash to two scheduled pickups a year. I haul whatever does not fit on a regular weekly visit — branches, palm fronds, old patio furniture, the bag of trimmings the last guy left. One trip to the green-waste yard and it is off your property.

  • Mulch & Decomposed Granite

Cedar, pine bark, or DG — installed at the right depth so beds look fresh and weeds give up.

Mulch beds get refreshed once a year, usually March before things heat up. Decomposed granite gets a thin top-up where foot traffic has thinned it. I match what is already on the property unless you want a change.

  • Drip & Sprinkler Tune-Ups

Drip emitters, valve replacements, controller programming, and the broken head you keep meaning to call about.

Most Tempe yards run on a mix — drip lines for the desert plants, sprinklers for whatever lawn is left. I replace clogged emitters, swap broken heads, and walk the controller with you so each zone is on a schedule that matches what is in the ground. Spring start-up and fall adjustment both included if you have me on weekly service.

  • Edging & Cleanup

Sharp, deliberate edges along walks, drives, and rock borders. Final blow-off so nothing carries to the patio.

Power-edged borders that hold for the full week. Trim work around posts, AC units, and the citrus tree the mower can not reach. Final pass with the blower across walks, patio, and driveway before I lock the gate.

Most weekly customers add cleanups, mulch, and the odd hardscape job — there’s usually a flat-rate way to handle that.
